Heat Shimmer
This shader is an attempt at simulating the shimmering quality of hot air,
(for example, the heat rising off the road on a hazy summer day, or the
warm air coming out of a chimney or a vent on a cold winter day.)

Remarks

The only fading functionality built in at the moment is based on the
direction of the surface normal with respect to the viewer, eg. using
a model which curves away at its edges.
- In the example flipbook, however, only a flat grid is used (the
grid is perpendicular to the road and stops about halfway up the skeleton.)
